The paranaple arts centre is centrally located in the heart of Devonport and is a premier arts facility. The Centre is home to the Town Hall Theatre, the Devonport Regional Gallery, and the Devonport Visitor Information Centre. It offers superb views of the Mersey River which is home to the passenger and vehicle ferries Spirit of Tasmania I & II. This service runs daily between Melbourne and Devonport. Devonport's CBD is situated less than a five minute drive from the ferry terminal and approximately 15 minutes from the airport with daily flights direct to Melbourne.
The paranaple arts centre was rebranded in 2018 to incorporate the combined facilities, but had previously opened in 2001 as the Devonport Entertainment & Convention Centre. Housed in two magnificent federation buildings, the Devonport Town Hall which was built in 1899, and the Courthouse which opened in 1903, the Centre is a modern multi-purpose complex and North West Tasmania's premier performing and visual arts centre comprising a proscenium arch theatre and residing directly beside the paranaple convention centre, Devonport Library and Providore Place.
Town Hall Theatre - a professional proscenium arch theatre combines traditional elegance with modern sophistication. The Town Hall Theatre provides comfortable seating for theatre performances, public lectures, large information sessions and conferences. The venue has modern audio and lighting facilities.
